Oh! And a little personal news…

“I am officially kundalini yoga certified!”

I am thrilled to share that I am officially certified in kundalini yoga. As you may know, I took ownership of Tribe in May, without any yoga qualifications at all. So for the last few months I have quietly been working at it, and I am looking so forward to this next chapter. For now though, let’s get back to the Tribe. We have some lovely things to share!!

1. BEGINNERS YOGA COURSE

Time: Saturdays 11:30-12:30 from September 19th

Details: A course designed for beginners, to answer your questions, to take it slow, to explain the meaning behind poses. Learn the various pranayama (breathing) while you uncover gentle practises and develop an understanding of yoga. Expect a safe, welcoming and supportive environment, led by a Leire, a passionate and knowledgeable teacher.

Who: This course will be limited to the those who pre-booked, meaning you will develop comfortability and connection within a safe environment.

Fee: €46 for the 4 classes

NEW TUESDAY 6pm CLASS

Lydia’s early morning Wednesday class has received such great feedback, that we’ve added a later class for those who don’t enjoy an early wake. This class is currently available to book. Beginner friendly!

We are also planning to add some new midweek 9am classes in the Autumn so keep your eye on the page!

CACAO EARTH DANCE: A guided dance/movement journey with Amy followed by relaxation with a soundscape sound bath.

Sunday 23 August 14:00-15:30

WOMEN’S SINGING CIRCLE. If you’ve never felt the power of many voices coming together to create harmony and resonance, you are missing out!

4. SPOTLIGHT ON SHAMA

Shama’s class was the first I took at Tribe flow. The class that made me fall in love with both Kundalini yoga and Tribe Flow itself. She has been with Tribe since the very beginning, sharing her many gifts and healing modalities with many who walk through the doors.

Shama, how would you explain what kundalini yoga is, and what first drew you to it?

“In my experience, kundalini yoga is this incredible technology that supports us through a journey of expansion and awareness. It’s just so powerful in shifting and moving heaviness, density or stagnancy within. The combination of movement, breath and sound, creates drastic change. You never leave the same.

In 2012 I was actually going through a really hard break up here in Cork when I discovered the meditations and mantras through a girl I met on a shamanic journey. I found they supported me so much. So I did some research and found a class to attend, and wow. The moment I arrived on the mat, I knew I had found something. The class hadn’t even started yet, the teacher was talking about the 11 bodies in kundalini yoga, and I knew I was home, I started crying.”

Many people know you as the kundalini yoga teacher, but you are actually multi-talented. Could you tell us a bit more about your work such as sound healing, inner source heart expansion and radionic table?

“My interest in sound healing actually began with Kundalini yoga, as the gong forms part of it. At the end of my first class the teacher played the gong and it was so special. When I returned to Cork after my kundalini yoga training in Brazil, I trained in the gongs.

This became weaved into my offerings, but in the background, my healing work continued. I have been on the healing path for a long time, since I was 18. I am actually a reiki practitioner too, but I don’t practise because my work evolved.

Inner source heart expansion is there result of all the inner work I’ve done, all the modalities I have learnt over the past 20 years. It also reflects the kundalini activation training I completed, my lineage, ancestors, they all add a thread to this tapestry. The work involves creating a space for energy healing, clearing blockages and releasing painful memories.

Radionic table is another modality that I bring from Brazil which works as a diagnostic and clearing tool. It’s very helpful at getting down to the root of the issue, when words fail.”

What do you love most about what you do?

“I love to be in service. It brings me a lot of joy to bring and share the things that have worked for me. To show people that there is so much more than just surviving, by bringing tools that can expand people’s awareness and help them to thrive. I love depth, and I love bringing people into this depth with me.”

If you wanted your students to know one thing about your work, what would it be?

“I think I’d want them to know that I don’t take things too seriously, and that this journey of healing doesn’t need to be so tough. Healing can also be gentle, and that is the energy I try to bring now. And also, follow what brings you joy, what gives you butterflies, and remember to have fun along there way.

That’s all for this month everyone. If you’re still here, thank you for your ongoing support- you are so loved and Tribe Flow is lucky to have you🩷
